Re your photo facing the glacier, where is that and how do you get there with a kayak?

That was in front of Hubbard Glacier, but just on the inside of “the gap”. We were just about to run the gap to the outside and paddle back to Yakutat. To get there, we hiked into the end of the fiord on the trail, carrying the big double kayaks, plus all the camping gear and food for our 9 day trip. That was our 5th day into the trip…
You see what you get for lying down? If you had been fly fishing at Italio Falls or mudding walls in the hangar or commercial fishing the Akwe you wouldn’t have had that problem.
